Strategic Integration of Several Acquired Companies

Integration of acquired ventures in Europe for a multinational cement and construction company. Involving a common IT platform and culture, a communication strategy, and striking the right balance between standardization and localization of operations.

Hailing from a developing country, a cement multinational acquired a large European company whose portfolio included operations in the UK, Ireland, France, Poland, and Germany. We designed a post-merger integration model to facilitate the integration process of the various operations.

The key challenges were the disparities of operating models, different customers and suppliers, roll-out of a new IT tool to replace legacy systems, conflicting communication approaches, and making sure the deadline for the new operations kick-off was respected.
